A couple more reasons why I love Mac

So I am really obsessed with Gilmore Girls. I could watch it all day if I had the opportunity to. Last year when Gilmore Girls came to and end, Mac would watch it with me on Tuesday nights. At first, he said that he didn’t like it. Then on Tuesdays he would start to ask if I was going to watch it (because he secretly loved it). Then, this past summer, my friend, Donelle, would come over almost every night and bring the old seasons of Gilmore Girls that she had on DVD. So every night Mac would ask, “Is Donelle coming over? Call Donelle and tell her to come over!” As it turns out, I think my husband may love the show more than I do—which is perfectly fine with me. He understands and appreciates the wittiness of Lorelei and Rory and I think he secretly wishes that he was Luke (or maybe not so secretly).

Anyway, I have noticed that Mac will always reference the show, and it cracks me up. This is our conversation from a few weeks ago while driving home from Mac’s grandma’s house:

Me: If I was your grandma, I would knock down the wall in her family room to make the kitchen and family room have more space.

Mac: Yeah, and maybe add on another bedroom of off the kitchen, like Rory’s.

Another day:

Me: I would love to live in a town like that.

Mac: Yeah, I would too; it reminds me of where Lorelei lives.

That is fun. I too love that show. When I get home from work, I fix my dinner and then sit myself down in front of the tv to watch re-runs of Gilmore Girls on ABC Family. Inevitably, Bekah will come in and comment on how terrible the acting is, and mutter and grumble and complain about how she can't handle the awful acting until I am forced to change the channel. She doesn't appreciate the wittiness, and so I can only hope to someday have a husband who will like the same shows as me, because I'm not sure what I would do if I had to live with someone who complained about my tv shows all the time. Sorry Bekah.

I've never seen gilmore girls but I AM ADDICTED to Lost as well, it's SO good. McKane and I watched the first two seasons straight and seriously didn't move for hours. I remember feeling like I was on the island after that weekend. Ha ha. On a side note, I absolutely LOVE the hamburger phone you got your husband for valentines day. That's so cool, ha ha!

Another reason that we are soul mates! I am addicted to the show. I have to confess - that I STILL DVR the re-runs EVERY day on abc family. I am still grieving the fact that there are no new episodes - I may never get over it! Did you like season 7? I didn't like the new writer/producer - it was missing something.

I love that Mac watches it too. Dean claims to think that the show is obnoxious, but admits that it has some funny lines (I personally think that most of the lines are hilarious!). But, the other day I was watching it, and had to go do something - he sat there and watched the whole thing by himself. I made fun of him and he made up some lame excuse about why he left it on - but I think he secretly enjoys the show! Who wouldn't?

Hey - when you move down here (or if you move down here - but I prefer to say "when") we should have a weekly Gilmore night, where we watch old episodes (or any movie that would be approved by Lorelei) and consume massive amounts of junk food! I think that would be so fun!

Hey Kelly girl!

I haven't been blogging much lately and wanted to say hi! How are you? When are you and Mac moving here?

He is totally welcome - the more the merrier! I totally cried at the last episode too - and on Rory's graduation, and on Lorelei's graduation one, and I'm sure some other ones too!

I agree - all the Lorelei/Christopher drama was obnoxious, and I feel like it needed another season to kind of give some closer to the whole series - I felt like it left a lot of loose ends!

Of course in my mind, Lorelei & Luke get married, and I like to think that Rory & Jess meet up (a couple years later) at some press thing, and start dating again. I know that he was a punk when they dated before, but he got his act together - they really were so compatible. What do you think?

Can you tell that I have thought way to much about this show?!

I"m so glad I'm not the only one whose dreamt about the Gilmores! I can't help it - I'm obsessed. I seriously wish that I could talk like that, and be that witty - but I comfort myself that they had scripts and rehearsals!

I really wanted to name a daughter Lorelei too, but Dean vetoed it - he does that a lot! He did agree that I could have a Luke though (even though he said NO to Lucas - which I really want). I could totally see you being like Lorelei & your daughter like Rory - you are going to be the best mom!

We can't forget Sookie - she is one of my absolute favorites too!

Ah!! I LOVE IT!! So...now when I am up in Utah I have a friend to watch Gilmore Girls with! I'm so happy! AND you know, you and Rory look A LOT alike. If Lauren Graham wasn't also in that picture, I totally would've thought it was you!

This is positively fantastic. I felt the same joy when Philip started watching Forensic Files with me, because I'm a freak and like less than normal television.

The Gilmore girls are just great, so funny and everything's kind of idyllic, yet still quite close to real life in many ways and situations. Loveable caracters and... I don't know. Just the Stars Hollow flair. It just goes through lots of important "stations" of a persons life, I guess that's what's fun to watch and makes it so touching: Marriages, first boyfriends, first breakups, death and births, high school university,... it's just amazing, to see alexis bledels development, too!
